I’ll have to share with you the Finnish filet (a giant hotdog baked in the oven with cheese stuffed into slits made in the sides of it!) It’s fairly awful but very cheap. Made Finland the happy country it is today 😂😄
There is a lovely gallery/gift shop down the street from where I live. In the window is an apron in a complete "hot dog" motif. The apron is black, and all the hot dogs are in bright colors! 🌭
Thanks for explaining the meaning of "dog days of summer". I had no idea and my birthday falls squarely in the middle. My husband hunts and a local butcher makes venison hot dogs for us. Entertaining stuff, as always.

I love good sausage. I think it was the Oscar Meyer wieners we ate as a little girl that did me in. Although if that were all that was available to me and I hadn’t eaten in days, I’d be glad to have them. My dislike, I’m embarrassed to say, is a first-world issue.
We have been eating no nitrates hot dogs all summer with sauerkraut and mustard and it’s been a DELIGHT. Thanks for always bringing us back to the most special parts of the simplest nourishment Jolene❤️❤️❤️❤️
