A certain joy coupled with sophistication & elegance that just DOESN'T REALLY EXIST now. A victim of fast food culture.

I clicked the link to the Kitchn martini recipe and it’s so interesting to hear her describe gin as overpowering (to some people) and vodka as “neutral”…. I find gin to be so light and drinkable and vodka to be overpowering! I’d choose a gin cocktail any day. (Though I’m not a martini drinker because I dislike olives!)

As a lover of gin – wait, that makes me sound like I have a problem – this is great. And I love the Thin Man movies too. TCM has a marathon of all of the films every New Year's Eve.

Ha! I’m a lover of gin, too, Bob! Thanks for the reminder about TCM! 🍸

Well gee, now I'm going to have to sample both gin and vodka martinis--poor me!

I clearly need to watch The Thin Man. We've been enjoying The Maltese Falcon--seems like a good time for the classics! Thanks for yet another marvelous addition to the count-down to Christmas!

Cheers, Jolene!🍸🍸

I think you’ll love it, Erin! And the sequel, “After The Thin Man” is terrific, too!

The Thin Man is one of my favorite Christmas movies. Also The Bishops Wife. It has a magical sherry bottle that keeps refilling.

Yes, all things of the Thin Man--that duo was magic together. Watched with a gin martini, the classic kind, of course. If only I had the clothes.

Michele, that dress that Myrna wears in the Christmas Eve party scene is one of my favorites — all of the clothes are stunning and William Powell is so dapper. Gin martini 🍸 is my choice, too, cheers!

I love The Bishops Wife, too, Kate! So charming! (I love the skating scene!)

At one point in my delusional youth, I thought I could actually turn myself into Nora. Only part I got right was love of gin martinis and learning how to tie an ice bag on top of my head!
