I did not know the history behind the peach Melba, but I’ve been a fan of that flavor combo for a long time. I like fresh peaches and raspberries in yogurt, among other things. In fact, while I don’t have any ice cream, I have yogurt, and I just happen to have some fresh peaches and raspberries in the fridge. I think I know what I’m having for dessert tonight!!

For the record, I did indeed have a bowl of vanilla yogurt with some fresh sliced peaches and raspberries (I stick them in the freezer so they don't go moldy on me!) and it was delicious. Not your recipe but certainly inspired by this newsletter!

Enjoyed this post, Jolene, as I do all of yours. The connection to history is always intriguing. I've never made Peach Melba, nor do I think I've ever tried it, but now I think I'll do both--and maybe riff on the recipe. Thanks for the inspiration.

My moms peach tree is over-producing and she is freakin out, like Seinfeld's parent with fruit of the month club. she gave me a crate full! So glad I found your platform and this post! What a grat story. I am a huge fan of Escoffier and Ritz, and love anyone who tells their stories!
