Congratulations on launching your paid subscription, Jolene! I know how much work you put into this newsletter. Somewhere in my basement is a fondue set that I bought years ago for a story I wrote on cheese fondue. Might be time to pull it out to make chocolate fondue. Such a delicious treat.
Congratulations, Jolene, on taking your newsletter to the next level! You have put a ton of work into Time Travel Kitchen this past year and shared so much free content with everyone. Now it is everyone else’s turn to show their support for you by upgrading to a paid subscription. Best of luck heading into this new year and decade! I personally LOVED the 70s. The 60s, too, but the 70s, were something else!
Congratulations on going paid, Jolene! As you know, I’m a huge fan of everything you do! So excited to receive more Time Travel Kitchen in my in-box. Always a great read and a recipe I salivate over and want to make. I don’t own a fondu pot, but now maybe I’ll be in the market for a pretty vintage one like yours. 🤗
Ruth! Thank you so much for all of your support and good will -and may I add— your delightful newsletter that I always look forward to and find inspiration in. Let me know if you make the fondue (and find a pot!) one of these days you, me and Jeff are going to have Pink Champagne Cake at Madonna Inn! 🍰 🍾 🤗
I love this, Jolene! Fondue always makes me think of the restaurant The Melting Pot, which was THE place to go for a date when I was in high school/college. Chocolate fondue has always been my favorite- thank you for sharing your recipe! 🍫
Congrats on breaking into the subscription realm – I must admit - I assumed you were already doing it and I was a mere free reader! : ) I think your Jetson-esque fondue is one excellent way to kick things off!!
In high school I 100% asked for a chocolate fondue pot for my birthday. Sadly, it was the candle-based kind, so the chocolate often got burnt on! But I still loved it. I guess the food historian in me was lurking even back then!
Uhmm... sorry Jolene, I'll have to pass on the fondue. Never liked mixing fruits and chocolate. Or fruits and cheese, for that matter. My mother used to bake chocolate peaches in the over. Never touched one of those either. I guess I have simple tastes.
Now, those aprons, on the other hand, are rather snazzy...
Sarah! My first Substack friend! 🤗 Thank you so much, you are an absolute sweetheart! By the way, I had Kringle last weekend! Need to heat it next time 😋
I do recall some fun fondue gatherings in years past! Thanks for bringing fondue back! I am upgrading my subscription but having a bit of trouble. I got a receipt, but I haven’t paid!

Thank you so much, Domenica! Can’t wait to see your fondue set…and your chocolate fondue! 🤗

Thank you, Kiki, what a great memory. I need to go, there is one in Naperville and another in Schaumburg 🫕
It’s such a delicious treat and when the strawberries are so good right now, I love it! 🍫 🍓

Of course! You rock!

That’s so sweet that you wanted a chocolate fondue pot 🫕 🍫 for your birthday! Definitely planting those food historian seeds, Sarah!

Hahaha! Noted, Gianni! But glad you like the aprons and ‘snazzy’ is a great compliment! 😂

We had to re-schedule, luncheon is next week, Thursday! I’ll have a report then!❣️

Kate, my guardian Angel and fairy godmother! Thank you so much, have a great weekend with all of the lucky attendees at Pie Cottage 🥧 🤗
Great launch, Jolene. And I've been "getting my 70's on with music lately, so why not with a luscious dessert!
Thank you so much, Joan! ‘70’s music and dessert —- sounds good to me! 💃 🍫 🎶
It looks scrumptious, even if I have not had breakfast yet!
