Sara is one of the nicest people I’ve met in the food world. Met her once at a cooking class in SF. Her food show where she took live calls was brilliant.
Oh, this was so engaging and illuminating - and the photo of your two at the end just tops it all off - what a delight to read!! (I'm playing catch-up!)
Sara did not mention that she was one of the founding members of the New York Women's Culinary Alliance, a dynamic group of professional women in the food and wine industry, dedicated to encouraging cooperation, networking and education among its members. I considered myself fortunate to have been an early member.
Loved the interview and Sara's career journey. Reading this I almost felt this amazing energy and connection between you two. Also soooo nice to see your face on the photo at the end 🙂
Such a wonderful interview, Jolene! What a fascinating career Sara has had--and still has! I love the picture of the two of you--and the others you include. I particularly enjoyed the story of her time with Julia on the PBS show, so timely as I get ready to watch the final episode of the HBO Max series, which I'm also loving. Thanks so much for this--and the recipe too!💝
I love the photo of the two of you at lunch! There is a great career lesson in this interview: if Julia Child asks you if you're good at food styling, you say "yes."
What a wonderful tribute to Sara and lucky you to have her in your circle of friends! I have admired her for years and seldom missed her Cooking Live show. She’s a legend for sure.
And thank you for the cookie recipe. I’ll make them soon!
This was so fun, Jolene (and Sara)! It’s fascinating to hear these behind the scenes memories, not to mention the inside peek at a woman’s career (I never tire of those). Thanks to you both!

Discovered Sara Moulton's cookbooks when I was selecting books for our library's cookbook club. Her books and recipes are crowd-pleasers!

I loved reading this! What an incredible story and journey. Great post!
I remember meeting her when you brought her to Grace. She was so sweet and lovely. I watch her shows with admiration for her skills and humanity.

Great interview! I have fond memories Sara's show Cooking Live, which I watched as a kid.
Great interview, Jolene. Loved reading about Sara’s pioneering career in food.
