And just so you know, it took all of my self-control to not immediately fly out of my house to the Missouri Bakery here in St Louis to get a St. Joseph Zeppole. It’s still early enough in the day that they might have some, but it’s Saturday and there must be long lines, and the last thing in the world I really need to do is eat gluten today. But it was a close call!

Zeppole!!! I can easily kill for one or two or ten of those pastries. St. Joseph, by the way, is my hometown's patron saint which means March 19th is a local public holiday.
In Japan, for some reason, Father's Day is celebrated in June.
I grew up in La Spezia, a port town halfway between Genoa and Pisa. Beautiful surroundings, lethally boring to live, especially for a teenager or 20-something.
