My chum Heather got married at the Madonna Inn and a bunch of us travelled out from the UK for the whole bonkers experience. She had the pink champagne cake as her wedding cake. The night before the wedding we were THRILLED to find that Carol Channing was giving a private performance for the owners of the hotel, we were all invited! There's a photo of me laughing my head off, holding hands with Carol Channing after she has told myself and my friend Caroline a VERY rude joke about Tallulah Bankhead here... https://www.silverscreensuppers.com/carol-channing/carol-channings-hello-dolly-cookies - thanks for triggering this fabulous memory xx
Jolene, how very kind you are to include me in this list of notables illustrated by these classic and gorgeous posters! It’s a delicious bit of irony that I was partly inspired to write the post after reading your piece about pink champagne cake that happened to be a guest post on Anne Byrn’s Between the Layers blog! Is that sweet or what? Thanks, dear friend! P.S. I love the picture of you and Leigh doing “serious research” at your brother’s restaurant!🤗
OMG Jolene! How did I miss this. Ruth just told me about it. Amazing coincidence.
It was a while ago, they are so fun and I loved reading your piece!
I’m so hungry after reading this!!
Lol!!
I'm floored - I'm suddenly thirsty - and would absolutely get a print of the 1980 poster for my guest room
I love these posters, too, Jess!
Fabulous 🌸 love the posters, recommendations, and recipes 💖
Thanks, Lisa! ✨💕

It was my pleasure, Jolene! So honored to be included.
Stunning posters! And so good of you to highlight other Substacks. I hope those authors appreciate the gesture.
I love the posters, too. And I’m grateful to all of these authors for helping me along the way over the past two years.
